This section present brief resumes of some key personnel. The team list is not exhaustive as we work with other international experts and technical personnel including skilled and unskilled labour from the local area.

Adeniyi Arimoro (MD/Ecology)

Adeniyi Arimoro is a seasoned Environmental Ecologist and has extensive experience in environmental consulting services for some 25 years. He has participated in the production and review of several papers and reports on biodiversity conservation studies and environmental Projects including ESIA, ESA, EER, EAu, EDD, EM, HSE and EMS in wetland, highland and lowland rain forests of Nigeria. He has coordinated and supervised many Projects and led the design, implementation and management of environmental and ecosystem protection programmes, including 100 environmental studies for Julius Berger, NNPC, other Oil & Gas corporations, and the World Bank.  Since 2005 to date he has been actively involved in various environmental studies for the Marginal Field Development (MFD) Projects and has helped to obtain EIA approvals for these developers. He has managed and coordinated many ESIAs for LNG, CNG and other Gas Plant and Gas Pipeline Projects successfully for clients such as Platform Petroleum Ltd, Isomer Energy Ltd, VTT LNG West Africa Ltd, Fradro Gas & Power Ltd, Seplat Energy, Midwestern Oil & Gas Co, West African Gas Pipeline Co. (and currently for GasInvest Ltd, at Onne, Rivers State, Nigeria).

He participated in ESHIA of mega Projects such as the Olokola LNG in Lagos/Ogun States and Brass LNG; and EIA/EER of V-Mobile Base Stations in all of Lagos State and Southwestern Nigeria. His expert contributions to national policies on sustainable natural resources’ utilization are outstanding. These include Report review of coastal habitats; and DFID/ERM Report of Impact of Climate Change on Nigeria’s Economy (for the 2010 Copenhagen Climate Change Summit). He also contributed to the review of the EIA Act and Sectoral Guidelines for major development sectors in Nigeria (including the Infrastructure, Renewable Energy and the Oil & Gas Sectors) for the Federal Ministry of Environment and World Bank. His contribution to the World Bank-funded Project: Micro-Watershed and Environmental Management Programme (MEMP) – Environmental Assessment of Bauchi and Imo States (including ecological research in Yankari National Park) was remarkable. He participated in the African Development Bank-funded Project: Forest Resources Study of Nigeria (1996-1999).

Adeniyi was among the first consultants called to design and initiate EIA process for Gas Plant Projects for IPPs in Nigeria. He has also authored technical papers on EIA and biodiversity conservation for international scientific journals, such as African Journal of Environmental Assessment and Management; American Journal of Environmental Sciences; The Lyonia Journal of Ecology and Society; and IUCN World Conservation Union.

He holds a M.Sc. in Ecology (University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria); and a B.Sc. in Crop Improvement, Dept. of Crop Protection and Environmental Biology (University of Ibadan).

 

Regina Arimoro (OD/Ecosystem Conservation)

Regina is an expert biodiversity conservationist with over 20 years of field and laboratory experience. She developed unique skills in conservation biology and taxonomy studies and contributed to numerous scientific reviews/reports. She has proved to be outstanding in environmental education and conservation awareness programmes. Regina is a plaque awardee (2007) of outstanding job performance by the Nigerian Conservation Foundation (NCF). Regina holds a M.Sc. in Environmental Biology (Plant Genetics) from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria); and a B.Sc. in Crop Protection and Environmental Biology (Crop Improvement) from the same university.

 

Oluseun Olubode (TD/Plant Ecology)

Dr. Olubode is an experienced plant scientist. He has participated in several vegetation ecological research activities and has acquired skills in ecological impact assessment studies, plant identification, vegetation categorization and habitat description in the tropics. He has conducted various research studies and environmental assessments (including several EIA, EES and ESIA) across various ecologies in Nigeria. He is a species and ecosystem conservation expert, and has successfully led and also participated as a leading expert in conservation of a National Park (Marguba Range of Old Oyo National Park and environs) and Forest  Reserves (Olokemeji Forest Reserve and Onigambari Forest Reserve in Ogun and Oyo States Respectively).

Since 2003, he has been well involved in the various component of internationally funded conservation of the Nigerian endemic monkey (Sclater’s guenon – Cercopithecus sclateri) in the highly degraded forests of southeast and Niger Delta regions of Nigeria from the perspectives of species demographic attributes, habitat sustainability, human-monkey relations, environmental threats and traditional institution that support and could enhance the monkey’s conservation. He has conducted and published studies in environmental biology of crops from the viewpoints of crop protection (weed management and vertebrate pest management) and conservation of biota for improved crop production. He currently leads a team to develop a proposal for Zero Oil economy initiative of the current administration. His research further encourages biodiversity conservation (species and ecosystem) within the working spaces of arable farmlands (and where necessary, laboratory assays) on the one hand and fragile wetland areas on the other. Thus, the scope of his research covers protected and unprotected spaces across various vegetation and agro-ecologies in Nigeria, especially the southern guinea savannah, derived savannah, lowland rainforests and mangrove swamps.

Dr. Olubode is a well published and awarded plant Ecologist/Environmental Biologist. He has consistently anchored and facilitated keynote speech, discussions and workshops on the environment and Environmental Assessments. He holds two (2020 and 2021) Special Awards from Environmental Health Students’ Association of the Faculty of Public Health, University of Ibadan. He is a member of prestigious national and international learned societies, including Society for Conservation Biology, International Association for Ecology (INTECOL), Ecological Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society for Plant Protection, among others. He is the Technical Director for AFruitful Environment Limited (2010-2021).

Dr. Olubode, a Watson International Scholar of the Environment (Brown University, USA) holds a doctorate degree in Plant Ecology and a Master degree in Environmental Biology, from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria.

 

Malcolm Onuoha (Accountant)

Mr. Onuoha worked for the Ministry of Defense for 13 where he compiled financial information, and reconciled reports and financial data. He has a Certificate in Selling and Thriving in Competitive Markets.

Mr. Onuoha has a BSc. in Accounting (2nd Class Upper Division) from the University of Benin, Benin, Nigeria.

 

Frank Arimoro (HSE Office Assistance/Java Programming)

Frank has been trained in health, safety and environment (HSE) and the EIA process. He is presently HSE office assistant and computer programming officer.

He is skilled in computer software engineering and has obtained a certificate in Java programming. BSc. Computer Science (in view).

 

Lynne Baker (Biodiversity Conservation) 

Dr. Lynne Baker began working in biodiversity conservation in Nigeria in 1996; conducted her Ph.D. research on the Endangered Sclater’s monkey (Cercopithecus sclateri) in the South-South and Southeast of Nigeria; and subsequently, has many years of experience engaging with local communities, non-governmental organizations, and government stakeholders in conservation and sustainable development in Nigeria. Currently, she is a Senior Research Associate with the Institute for Development, Ecology, Conservation, and Cooperation (IDECC), based in Rome.

Previously, Dr. Baker was a faculty member in Environmental Science at Baylor University (Texas, USA) and in Natural and Environmental Sciences at the American University of Nigeria. She received among the highest honors as a graduate student: She was a U.S. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow and a MacArthur Doctoral Research Scholar. She is a member of the IUCN Hippo Specialist Group and the IUCN Primate Specialist Group (PSG), as well as the Human-Primate Interactions subgroup of the PSG. Her other professional affiliations include African Primatological Society, American Society of Primatologists, International Primatological Society, and Society for Conservation Biology. She developed and leads ongoing (since 2005) research and sustainable development projects in key communities in Southeastern Nigeria, with a focus on conservation of rare primates and forest habitats. Work includes development of forest monitoring programs, livelihood development for local communities, primate census research, environmental education programs, and planning for eco-tourism.

In the Akpugoeze Community Complex in Enugu State, her experience also includes determining land use and land tenure in preparation for establishment of a community-based conservation area (protected area for primates and other wildlife). Dr. Baker also developed and leads current research and conservation program (since 2015) on the large hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) in large-dam reservoirs in northern Nigeria, in collaboration with Gombe State and Adamawa State. Developed partnerships among government, NGO, and other institutions to address human-hippo conflict and livelihood challenges at these reservoirs.

 

Emmanuel George (Geology/HSE Lead Auditor)

Mr. Emmanuel is a geologist and skilled HSE Consultant. He has had several years of experience in developing and implementing HSE Management systems for organisations. He has also been team leader for conducting several studies including Occupational Health and Safety Audits, Managements System Audits, Pre- Commissioning Environmental Assessments and Oil Field Site Inspection. Emmanuel has also facilitated several HSE based trainings including Basic Industrial Safety, Chemical and Laboratory Safety Environmental Awareness etc.

He has extensive training experience and expertise in providing health, safety & environmental advice, safety management and implementation of HSE systems and policies within oil & gas, manufacturing, transport, financial Industries. He has success record of supervising & managing drilling, construction and installation projects; and has attended various training courses in HSE. He has been involved in the development and implementation of HSE MS for several organisations. He has facilitated several HSE courses including Risk Assessment, Environmental Awareness and Management, Fire Safety, Accident Reporting and Investigation, etc.

Ability to use initiative in execution of responsibilities, organize structures and implement new projects. Imaginative, innovative and creative worker, who has ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks accordingly and implement new skills & ideas as required. Possess excellent technical expertise, client handling, analytical, problem solving, planning, organising, supervision, communication and interpersonal skills.

 

Akintayo Abegunde (Logistics/Liaison Officer)

Akintayo Abegunde is a seasoned logistic officer. He started his career with Teanfeani Nigeria Limited as a logistic officer for a period of 5 years before joining AFruitful Environment Limited in 2013. With AFEL, he serves and logistics and field personnel for some 10 years.

He has a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ibadan, Oyo State; and a diploma in financial studies from the Polytechnic of Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

Christopher Onosode (Economics)

Dr Onosode has several years of experience in capital project costing and budgeting, project management, business process modelling, strategy, policy analysis and development, and public financial management having worked in private and public sector organisations such as NAL Merchant Bank (Sterling Bank), Cadbury Schweppes Plc, Shell UK, Global EIT (Pte) Singapore, Debt Management Office of Nigeria and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Most recently, as Country Director of Stakeholder Democracy Network, a leading UK conflict management/community empowerment NGO with focus on the Niger Delta, he provided strategic and operational leadership to the firm and teams working on projects funded by UK’s FCO/DfID, USAID, EU, Dutch Embassy, MacArthur and Ken Saro-Wiwa Foundations, among others.

Since June 2020, he has been re-engaged as an Independent Consultant in the private sector and, with his deep knowledge of the donor community, the public sector on state and federal government assignments. He sits in a non-executive capacity on a number of boards such as Mainstream Global Insurance Brokers (Chairman), Lilybank Property & Trust Ltd (Director) and Initiative for Community Development (Trustee).

An avid sportsman and pianist, Dr. Onosode holds degrees in Economics from the University of Kent, UK and London School of Economics, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from University of Ibadan.

 

Meshach Ojile (Socioeconomics)

Dr. Meshach Ojile has over 20 years of experience and specializes in the following: Environmental Assessment (EIA, EER, EAR, PIA, ESI Mapping, etc.), Social Impact Assessment (SIA)/Socioeconomic, Public Participation/Consultation/Community Engagement Expert and Community Health Assessment (HIA), Waste Management, Environmental Training & Education, Spatial and Regional Planning, Mapping and Land-use Analysis, Project Planning, Management and Appraisal, Expertise in Technical Report Writing/Packaging and Review. He hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Management. (Environmental Planning, Pollution Control and Management) from the Imo State University, Owerri, Nigeria.

 

Charles Omoyeni (Senior Environmental Officer)

Charles has environmental, safety and occupational health management experience spanning 15 years in oil & gas and general industry. His career objective therefore, is to give my best and see organizations attain a loftier height with strong reputation in health, safety and environment performance. His vast experience in EIAs, offshore and onshore facilities and in consulting has yielded positive results for associated clients. Charles Omoyeni (Nebosh Dip), a fellow of Institute of Management Consultants, is an insightful environmental professional.

He was recognized by the London Graduate School and Commonwealth University for his contribution to environmental protection in Nigeria with an award of P.hD in Environmental Management. He has successfully managed a good number environmental protection projects in Nigeria and within West Africa. Amongst the flagship project leads are Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) of Seme 1 Field in Republic of Benin, ESIA of Dangote Clinker Export and Gypsum Terminal Apapa Lagos, ESIA of OPAC Refineries Kwale Delta State, etc.

He is imbued with many intrinsic interpersonal qualities such as excellent communication skills and report writing. He holds a B.Sc. (2.1) degree in Geology and M.Sc. degree in Environmental Geology.

 

Gbenga Adeoluwa (Soil Studies)

Dr. AdeOluwa is an Agronomist with over 12 year experience in soil ecology, environmental impact assessments, bio-composting and evaluation of environmental resources for the private and public sectors, and the academia.  He is a recipient of the German Academic Exchange Services scholarship award. Gbenga holds a Ph.D. in Soil Fertility and a MSc. in Agronomy (Soil Science) – both from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria).  Also, a B. Agric. from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (Nigeria).

 

Bunmi Nubi (Air Quality and Noise Studies)

Dr. Nubi’s expertise is environmental management and toxicology includes monitoring and evaluation of pollutant levels to ascertain their toxicological effects and determine mitigation options. He actively participated in environmental evaluation studies; environmental impact assessments of developmental projects; environmental audit of industrial facilities; solar energy works; and oceanographic field expeditions. Nubi holds an M.Phil. in Environmental Management and Toxicology and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemical Sciences – both from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (Nigeria).  Also, a M.Sc. and PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria).

 

Anthony Zobaeshia (GIS and Mapping) 

Anthony Zobaeshia, is a geographic information systems (GIS) and digital mapping specialist. He has worked in the field of database development and design, spatial database conversion and digital mapping for several years. He possesses an extensive experience in the principles and applications of GIS, GPS and RS. He has participated in many projects, which border on conservation, environmental and resource management using GIS methodologies, database development, data conversion, satellite image analysis, environmental and resources modeling. He holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science; and an M.Sc. in Geographic Information Systems, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.

 

Alex Titiloye (Civil Engineering)

Alex is a seasoned engineer with over 25 years of professional experience in field construction and engineering design. He has participated in a broad range of civil engineering works (including Telecom Base Stations and Masts) in all parts of Nigeria. He has vast experience in soil analyses and integrity tests for engineering and construction works. He has also been involved in solar energy works and environmental auditing studies. Alex holds a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife (Nigeria).

 

Nubi Afolasade (Environmental Engineering/EMS/WMS)

Mrs. Nubi is an Environmental Engineer. She has experience in environmental management which includes setting up Environmental Management System (EMS), Waste Management System (WMS); and developing HSE policies for organizations and Programmes. She also has experience in environmental pollution monitoring and control and has published scientific papers in both international and local journals. She has participated in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) studies and other environmental studies in Nigeria and overseas, hence produces and reviews world-class EIA Reports. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, and a Master’s degree in Environmental and Energy Management from the University of Twente, Netherlands. Engr. Nubi serves as a Technical Director in AFEL.

 

Ozo Barnabas Nwaiwu (Admin/IT, Lagos)

Barnabas is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), with a wealth of experience in performing IT Risk Advisory, Compliance and Revenue Assurance. His experience and competence spans various business spheres including but not limited to Consulting, Telecommunications and the Financial Industry. He seeks opportunities to enable him further develop his skills and interest in the Socio-economic aspect of Environmental Impact Assessments/Audits. He is constantly developing himself through extensive interactions with experienced and highly skilled Environmental consultants and experts.
